PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder, a paper carrier, and an image formation device capable of responding to various types of sheets by a simple constitution by preventing a separating operation between a paper feed belt and a separation roller from affecting on the separation performance and the paper feed performance. SOLUTION: This paper feeder is provided with a paper feed/separation mechanism including the paper feed belt 11 and the separation roller 12 and a separation member such as a circular collar separating the separation roller 12 from the paper feed belt 11 in the adjacent to the paper feed belt 11. At a timing when the sheet reaches a prescribed position in the downstream side in the paper feed direction from a nip part of the paper feed belt 11 and the separation roller 12, the paper feed belt 11 and the separation roller 12 are separated by the separation member with the paper feed belt 11 alone, or the both of the paper feed belt 11 and the separation roller 12 stopped driving.
