PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a small-sized optical module which has small coupling loss. SOLUTION: The optical coupling device which couples the projection light A of a 1st optical fiber 506 with a 2nd optical fiber 502 is equipped with a reflection body 503 which is arranged on an end surface of the 2nd optical fiber 502 and a high-refractive-index medium 501 with which the 2nd optical fiber 502 is wound; and the projection light A passes through the high-refractive- index medium 501 and the core or clad of the 2nd optical fiber 502 and is reflected on the side of the end surface of the reflection body 503 to enter the core from the end surface.
