PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a vibrating membrane separator, which makes it possible to efficiently concentrate a vinyl chloride polymer latex to a high degree of concentration with a vibrating membrane separator at a high permeation flux over a long period of time. SOLUTION: In a method for concentrating a vinyl chloride polymer latex by using a vibrating membrane separator, the maximum vibration amplitude of the separating membrane is set to 10-15 mm and the vibrating membrane separator is operated in such a manner that it is repeatedly driven and stopped.
