PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid contact of a suction valve and a piston. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a valve lift changing device 9 moving a suction valve drive cam 4 in the cam shaft center axial direction to change the valve lift amount of the suction valve 2, a valve timing shifting device 11 shifting opening and closing timing of the suction valve 2, a positioning member 11 connected to a suction valve drive cam shaft 6, and an abutting part 113 to which the positioning member 11 abuts, and controls an advancing amount of opening and closing timing of the suction valve 2 by making the positioning member 111 abut to the bumping part 113. The positioning member 111 is formed into a tapered shape so that an amount L2 (<L1), which can advance the opening and closing timing of the suction valve 2 according to the movement of the cam shaft 6 that moves to the side where the valve lift amount of the suction valve 2 (Fig. 8 (A)→Fig. 8 (B)) becomes large, is reduced.
