PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional nanostructure capable of developing a function showing high directivity and/or selectiveness with high density. SOLUTION: The functional nanostructure comprises a support having a plurality of mutually independent pores whose opening portions have bores of 200 nm or smaller and widths of 20 nm or greater and one or more type of functional organic compound that at least parts of molecules are introduced in the pores.
