<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pillar garnish structure for a curtain type air bag storage automobile which can reduce the chance of the air bag to intrude into the rear side of the pillar garnish when the air bag expands, prevents the pillar garnish from being removed, and can obtain a impact buffer effect when the air bag fails to expand. SOLUTION: An air bag intrusion preventing rib 31 is formed on the pillar garnish upper part rear face of at least either one of a center pillar garnish 11A or a quarter pillar garnish along the longitudinal direction of an automobile. An engaging piece 16 to be inserted and engaged with the engaging hole 44 of the vehicular body panel is provided at the tip end of the air bag intrusion preventing rib.</p> |
