摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical gyro with small size, easy production and at a low cost, for detecting a wide range of angular velocity accurately and a narrow measurement band. SOLUTION: When an impedance variation frequency of a first ring resonator type semiconductor laser 11 reaches the upper limit or the lower limit of the measurement band, the driving of the first ring resonator type semiconductor laser is stopped, and a second ring resonator type semiconductor laser 12 having a measurable angular velocity range overlapping the measurable angular velocity range of the first ring resonator type semiconductor laser is started. To realize such a method, the taper shape of each ring resonator type semiconductor laser is designed or the amplification band of an amplifier is set so that part of the measurable angular velocity range of two or more ring resonator type semiconductor laser overlap.
