PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid for an intermediate layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor which is free of coating film defects, has excellent coatability and exhibits good stability, further to provide the electrophotographic photoreceptor which imparts the high-quality image free of the image defects formed by using the coating liquid for the intermediate layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor and to provide an electrophotographic method, electrophotographic device and process cartridge for the electrophotographic device using the electrophotographic photoreceptor to impart the high-quality image free of the image defects formed by using the coating liquid for the intermediate layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: This coating liquid for the intermediate layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor prepared by dispersing a metal oxide into at least a binder resin and organic solvent and the pH of this metal oxide is <=6.
