摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a polarization corrector 100 which polarizes and corrects a light wave of linear polarized light, circular polarized light or elliptic polarized light into linear polarized light having a plane of polarization in a specific azimuth and to actualize a wavelength- division multiplexing device which multiplexes light waves with adjacent wavelengths so that their planes of polarization do not match each other by using the polarization corrector 100 as to the polarization corrector 100 which converts the polarization state of a light wave and the wavelength-division multiplexing device which uses the polarization corrector. SOLUTION: A control part of the polarization corrector 100 controls a rotator 11 so that the plane of polarization of an input light wave is in the azimuth of the plane of polarization of a reference polarizer 13. Further, the control part receives the output light wave 51- 1 from the polarization corrector having inputted the input light wave through the rotator 21 and a 1st 1/4-wavelength plate 28 through a 2nd 1/4-wavelength plate 29 and a polarizer 23 having a plane of polarization set to a reference azimuth and polarizes and corrects the input light wave into the linear polarized light having the plane of polarization in the reference azimuth according to a received polarized signal. Further, a plurality of polarization correctors 100 and multiplexers are connected directly or by connectors, etc., so that planes of polarization of light waves having adjacent wavelengths do not match each other or preferably cross each other at right angles.
