PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain coke hardly causing powdering in a blast furnace in coke for a blast furnace by using a chamber type coke oven. SOLUTION: This method for coke production is characterized in that coke has <=40% area ratio of pores having >=100μm equivalent circular diameter of coke per unit cross-section area of coke, coke charge density in the chamber type coke oven is 0.7-0.9 t/m<3> , when the area ratio of pores having >=100μm equivalent circular diameter of coke per unit cross-section area is A, formula A=-42.30×BD+72.88 (BD is coal charge density (t/m<3> ) is used and the area ratio A is adjusted to <=40%.
