PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image detector and a radiation image formation system where an X-ray scintillator, a lens array, and an area sensor corresponding to each lens unit of the lens array are arranged in this order while the detector and the system have high condensing efficiency and the improved mechanical strength of a lens unit where the lens array is arranged. SOLUTION: In the radiation image detector and the radiation image formation system using the detector, the X-ray scintillator, the lens array, and each lens unit of the lens array are arranged in this order, and the area sensor is arranged in a zigzag.
