PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of preventing various kinds of bacteria such as bacteria or molds within the refrigerator from being propagated and concurrently eliminating occurrence of bad odor. SOLUTION: There is provided a refrigerator R in which a storing chamber 5 and a cold air duct 8 are defined within a thermal insulated box 4, and cold air heat exchanged with a cooling unit 9 arranged in the cold air duct 8 is circulated within the storing chamber 5 by a blower 10. This refrigerator has an ultra-violet ray radiation device 30 capable of radiating ultra-violet ray and then capable of radiating visible light ray. Ultra-violet ray is radiated by the ultra-violet ray radiation device 30 into the cold air duct 8 and visible light ray is radiated into the storing chamber 5.
