PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the change of sensitivity of detection for gas and effectively carry out the ventilation of an air conditioner by using a gas detector and the air conditioner employing the gas detector. SOLUTION: The gas detector is composed of a gas detecting section 100 and an introducing conduit 101. A partition plate 102 is disposed at the center of the introducing conduit 101. The periphery of a connection part between the gas detecting section 100 and the introducing conduit 101 is covered by an adiabatic seal rubber 105, and a gas permeable filter 103, to which a non- woven fabric 104 is affixed, is mounted on the aperture of the rubber 105, and a gas sensor 110 is mounted on a substrate 108 in a space inside the rubber 105. Even in the case the gas varies at the front of the introducing conduit 101 so that the flow velocity is increased, the gas to be introduced is divided by the partition plate 102. Therefore, the increase of flow velocity of the gas is restrained at the gas sensor 110, and the change of sensitivity for gas can be reduced.
