PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyurethane elastic fiber for sanitary products which has excellent elastic properties causing no fatigue even at low temperature with high apparent fineness, fitting properties, good wearing properties and excellent wearing feel and the like. SOLUTION: The objective polyurethane elastic fiber is made of polyurethane- urea polymer prepared from polyol, diisocyanate and diamine as the main components wherein the polyol includes random copolymer of tetrahydrofuran and ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide and the elongation at break of the fiber is >=450%.
