PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bale shredding method and an apparatus therefor, which separate a bale into the constitutional units of a bale constituting material without adding a large force to the bale. SOLUTION: The bale shredding method and apparatus therefor have rotors 4a, 4b two or more and separate the constituting material of the bale B into its constitutional units. The rotors 4a, 4b have an arm 5 arranged radially on the peripheral surface thereof, rotate in one direction and are disposed on the front, the middle and the back stages along the bale B bringing-in direction. The arm 5 supports the bale B, which is carried in onto each rotor, applies a bending moment having the arm 5 as the center to the bale B and separates the constituting material into the constitutional units while making the bale B self-destructed. The rotor 4a on the front stage is to carry the carried-in bale to the rotor side on the backward and at least one rotor located on the back stage reverses the bale, which is carried-in while being self-destructed, and returns to the rotor onto the front side.
