PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for forming pellets in a coagulant solution by cutting coagula in the solution, which apparatus is made preventive against the occurrence of wear resulting from the contact of a cutting edge with a die and gives well-shaped cuttings of the coagula. SOLUTION: This pelletizer (1) comprises a die (11) having many discharge holes (12) on the discharge surface discharging a coagulable mass, a coagulation chamber (21) filled with a coagulant solution that coagulates a coagulable matter discharged from the die (11), and a rotary cutting edge (31) that rotates while it keeps a small clearance of at most 0.2 mm between it and the discharge surface of the die (11).
