PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a smaller-sized stirring apparatus by stirring a substance to be stirred by alternately turning a retaining base, in the normal and reverse directions, on which a container filled with the substance to be stirred is placed and requiring no member for supporting the retaining base at a periphery of the retaining base. SOLUTION: An output shaft 10A upwardly projecting from a body 10B of a pivotable actuator 10 is provided, the retaining base 8 on which the container filled with the substance to be stirred is engaged with the output shaft 10A and the retaining base 8 is alternately turned in the normal and reverse directions. Therefore, it is not required that the member for supporting the retaining base 8 is provided at the periphery of the retaining base 8 and thereby, the whole of the stirring machine can be miniaturized.
