PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide respective means for (1) using a nucleic acid as a modulator for immunoactivation, (2) using it as a biomarker for immunoactivation and inflammation, and (3) identifying a new target for screening immunomodulators. SOLUTION: The means for screening Mlsn1 modulator comprise using any purified nucleic acid encoding human Mlsn1, or the like, wherein the nucleic acid encodes a polypeptide characterized in that (1) the N-terminated region is encoded by a consecutive sequence located at the 5'-position relative to a nucleotide encoding the N-terminated region, or the like, (2) the membrane- penetrated region encoding 6 domains crossing a membrane is encoded by a consecutive sequence of at least 150 nucleotides, and (3) the C-terminated region is encoded by a consecutive sequence located at the 3'-position relative to a nucleotide encoding both the N-terminated region and the membrane-penetrated region. |
