<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for sink-and-float sorting of waste plastic pieces capable of precise sink-and-float sorting of waste plastic pieces in a relatively small water tank. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a screw conveyor 7, set on the upstream side from a water tank 2 having a constant direction of water flow, to push and sink waste plastic pieces in the water, and shields 12 to make the water flow meander in the water tank 2. When waste plastic pieces are thrown into the water by the screw conveyor 7, PET pieces smoothly settle down in a short period of time without being influenced by surface tension which hinders settling down of the pieces, while PP pieces and PE pieces come to the surface of the water and thus precise sorting can be realized. A relatively small water tank is utilized for this sorting device, but there is no problem because a sufficient distance of flow for sorting is secured by making the flow meander.</p> |
