PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage disposer capable of inhibiting an over-stirring operation. SOLUTION: In the garbage disposer which performs a volume reduction process of garbage, a garbage disposer body 1, a disposal tank 10 installed in the garbage disposer body 1, a stirring means 13 provided in the disposal tank 10, a drive device 21 which drives the stirring means 13, a body stirring control part 24Aa which controls the drive device 21 so that the stirring means 13 repeats the alternate cycle of stopping and stirring after its initial stirring operation, a control panel 9 which is operated for data input by an operator so as to omit the initial stirring operation of the stirring means 13 and a skip control means which controls the drive device 21 so that the initial stirring operation of the stirring means 13 is omitted, when the control panel 9 is operated, so as to omit the initial stirring operation of the control panel 9 during starting the operation, are provided.
