TYPING PROBE FOR HEPATITIS C VIRUS, METHOD FOR TYPING HEPATITIS C VIRUS AND METHOD FOR PREDICTING THERAPEUTIC EFFECT OF INTERFERON ADMINISTRATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for typing hepatitis C virus (HCV) by which typing into a smaller number of types than a conventional one can be carried out by a simple operation without carrying out base sequencing and there is even usefulness for prediction of therapeutic effects of interferon administration. SOLUTION: The method for typing HCV into 3 types based on the base sequence in a 5' untranslated region of the HCV is provided. For example, a probe having a specific base sequence is used for the method. The probe used for the method and the method for predicting the therapeutic effects of the interferon administration utilizing the method are further provided.
