PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and system for learning dictionaries and rules for a machine translation system, and a storage medium stored with a dictionary and rule learning program for the machine translation system by extracting a set of an input word, an equivalent which is being translated by a machine, and an ideal equivalent in an ideal translation, and adding and correcting proper dictionaries and rules in consideration of the result of a current machine translation. SOLUTION: An ideal translation of a 2nd language as a translation of an input sentence is inputted (step 1) and a machine translation of the 2nd natural langauge obtained by converting the input sentence by the machine translation system is compared with the input sentence (step 2). Then a set of the input word in an input sentence, a machine equivalent as a translation of the input word, and an ideal equivalent in an ideal translation is extracted (step 3) to add or alter either or both of the dictionaries and rules (step 4). Consequently, the dictionaries and rules of the machine translation system can be turned to a translation object field. |
