PURPOSE: To detect a rotor position always accurately without being influenced by the variation of a rotation frequency and a load by a method wherein the rotor position is detected in accordance with line voltages between armature windings. CONSTITUTION: Line voltage generators 50a-50c generate line voltages between armature windings in accordance with terminal voltages Vu , Vv and Vw . The line voltages are amplified by amplifiers 80a-80c. A comparator 66a compares the output of the line voltage generator 50a with the output of the amplifier 80b. A comparator 66b compares the output of the line voltage generator 50b with the output of time amplifier 80c. A comparator 66c compares the output of the line voltage generator 50c with the output of the amplifier 80a. The outputs of the respective comparators 66a-66c are used as rotor position detection outputs. With this constitution, the rotor position can be detected always accurately without being influenced by the variation of a rotation frequency and a load. |
