PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector for the inserted shape of an endoscope having a 3D imaging probe with extended life by reducing the mechanical stress applied to the 3D imaging probe. SOLUTION: This detector comprises means for mutually retaining (constraining the relative movements) of the connector or scope of the 3D imaging probe of a type inserted to a forceps channel or the both, so that the mechanical stress to the 3D imaging probe is reduced by freely moving the connector of the 3D-imaging probe to a scope.
