PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excellent resonance conditions by making a distance between an electromagnetic induction coil and the outer surface of a rice container longer than heretofore. SOLUTION: The electric rice cooker is provided with the rice container 3 in a multi-layer structure for which an outer surface member is made of SUS304 stainless steel, a first electromagnetic induction coil 10A arranged at a position corresponding to the bottom part 3a of the rice container 3 and a second electromagnetic induction coil 10B arranged at the position corresponding to a curved part 3c from the bottom part 3a to the side peripheral part 3b of the rice container 3. The distance D between the first and second electromagnetic induction coils 10A and 10B and the outer surface of the rice container 3 is set larger than the one using the rice container for which the outer surface member is made of SUS430 stainless steel and the almost equal inductance to the one using the rice container for which the outer surface member is made of the SUS430 stainless steel is obtained.
