PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure safety by turning off a heater power source after a prescribed time elapses when an iron is left without turning off the power source. SOLUTION: The iron is provided with a sensor part 6 for detecting whether the iron is in a left state or a usage state. The sensor part 6 is provided with case parts 8 and 11 and a conductive mobile body 10 which is incorporated in the cases 8 and 11 so as to be freely rotatable. An electrode is constituted of the case parts 8 and 11.
