PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means and method accurately detecting/identifying microorganism in a short time. SOLUTION: The detector for microorganisms is provided with a DC power source 10, a positive terminal 9 and a negative terminal 8, a tubular glass capillary 1 having the positive terminal 9 on one end and the negative terminal 8 on the other end and filled with a buffer solution, a reservoir 14 for supplying the buffer solution, an injector valve connected to the positive terminal 9 for injecting an antibody, an antibody reservoir regulating the amount of the injecting antibody and connected to the injector valve, a light source illuminating light to the capillary 1, and a sensor part 13 measuring the scattered light from the capillary 1. The antibody and the microorganisms 2 move in opposite direction when a voltage is applied to the capillary 1, and a microorganism- antibody complex 12 is formed when the microorganisms 2 meet with the antibody recognizing the microorganisms 2, and as a result, the detection/ identification is accurately carried out in a short time. |
