METHOD FOR EXTRACTING QUERY OBJECT FROM IMAGE DATABASE

PURPOSE: A method for extracting a query object from an image database is provided to more efficiently obtain the query object by considering spatial relation information of features. CONSTITUTION: A method for extracting a query object from an image database includes the steps of filtering a query image to leave only pixels having main colors, filtering a database image to leave only pixels having main colors(104); repeatedly comparing the density of the left pixels with predetermined threshold for stressing high-density regions and suppressing low-density regions, so that the left high-density regions are presumed as query object areas(105); decomposing the query object image into a plurality of region-facets, obtaining features of each decomposed region-facets, decomposing the presumed query object image into a plurality of region-facets, obtaining the feature of each decomposed region-facets, so that the region-facet having the actually same features as the feature of the query object image region-facet is presumed as a query object(106).
