PURPOSE: Novel polyethoxylated α-tocopherol ester derivatives and their preparation method are provided. The compounds are represented by the formula(1) and used as additives in the animal feed as a vitamin E source. CONSTITUTION: The novel derivative of the formula(1) is synthesized by esterifying a compound represented by the formula(3) with a compound of the formula(4):R-OH in the presence of a condensing agent such as 1,3-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, N,N-dimethyl-4-aminopyridine or para-toluenesulfonic acid. In the formulae, R is CH3OCH2CH2(OCH2CH2)n, where n is an integer of 2-400. The derivatives specifically are selected from the group consisting of DL-α-tocopherol-¥ø-methyl polyethyleneglycol succinate(n=6), DL-α-tocopherol-¥ø-methyl polyethyleneglycol succinate(n=11) and DL-α-tocopherol-¥ø methyl polyethyleneglycol-succinate(n=44).
