PURPOSE: A rod guide of a shock absorber is provided to extend the range of vehicles equipped with a shock absorber by assembling an inner tube to the recessed part of a rod guide. CONSTITUTION: In a rod guide of a shock absorber, a hollow rod guide(40) is prepared to guide movement of a piston rod(30). The rod guide has a recessed part(42) recessed in the circumferential direction from the center of the bottom. The recessed part has a diameter capable of inserting a part of the tip of an inner tube(20). The freedom of design of basic length of the shock absorber is secured to the utmost and therefore, the range of vehicles equipped with a shock absorber is extended.
