PURPOSE: A method for fabricating a liquid crystal display panel is provided to prevent the surface oxidation of aluminum alloy gate electrodes and source/drain electrodes due to the oxidation atmosphere when depositing pixel electrodes, by forming aluminum and silicon mixture layer on the gate electrodes and source/drain electrodes. CONSTITUTION: A method for fabricating a liquid crystal display panel includes the steps of forming a plurality of gate electrodes(101a,101b) on a transparent lower insulating substrate having thin film transistor areas and gate pad areas, forming a first buffer layer(102a) on the gate electrodes in the gate pad areas, forming a gate insulating film(103) on the entire surface of the substrate, forming a semiconductor layer, n+ semiconductor layer(105) and source/drain electrodes(106) on the gate electrodes in the thin film transistor areas, forming a second buffer layer(107a) on the source/drain electrodes, forming a protecting film(108) on the gate insulating film including the second buffer layer, forming a plurality of contact holes by selectively etching the gate insulating film and the protecting film to expose predetermined portions of the first and second buffer layers, and forming pixel electrodes(110) on the protecting film including the contact holes.
