PURPOSE: A position tracking and server configuration of a mobile terminal in a CDMA communication network is provided to overcome an installation of additional equipment and an excessive error problem, thereby tracking a position of a terminal. CONSTITUTION: A position tracking server obtains a PN number, Ec/Io of PN, and an RSSI value through a BSM(Base Station Manager) after obtaining PCX, BSC, BSM, BTS numbers obtained from HLR/VLR(S1). The server obtains a near position of a terminal by using a BTS ID and a sector ID(S2). The server retrieves a neighboring DB by an image matching system with chip delay and each PN Ec/IO, and the RSSI value(S3). The server compares a presently measured time with statistical data by using statistical changing data by time/area(S4). The server compensates the Ec/Io value by using a formula 1, and retrieves a record having the nearest data with the compensated data value, then decides a position of the terminal(S5,S6).
