PURPOSE: A method for sterilization is provided to sterilize food and other stuff for sanitation by turning on an ultraviolet ray lamp for a certain time. CONSTITUTION: An electromagnetic wave from a magnetron is radiated to a cooking chamber to cook food, and an ultraviolet ray lamp is used to sterilize utensil and stuff. A sterilization device with the ultraviolet ray lamp comprises a counter to count cooking time after the cooking is started. A memory portion adds the counted value with a first accumulated value to calculate a second accumulated value. A controlling portion has a program to compare the second accumulated value with a predetermined value. If the second accumulated value is over the predetermined value, the ultraviolet ray lamp is turned on for a certain time for sterilization.
