PURPOSE: A flat panel display device with a touch panel is provided to compensate the potential distortion by changing a contact resistance value between potential compensating electrodes and transparent electrodes by controlling an area of an insulating film therebetween, thereby improving the reliability of the device. CONSTITUTION: A flat panel display device with a touch panel includes a compensational electrode area of the touch panel includes in an LCD marginal areas of the flat panel display device, wherein the compensational electrode area includes an insulating film formed on transparent electrodes(102) of an area to which potential compensating electrodes are formed to insulate the potential compensating electrodes from the transparent electrodes and having an area reducing as farther from a signal applying part(103) to change a contact resistance value for the signal applying part according to position, the potential compensating electrodes formed with low resistant metal in an area of the insulating film, and a contact resistance varying layer(115) for changing the contact resistance value according to the position over the entire area in which the insulating film contacts the potential compensating electrodes.
