摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the quantity of deformation in an optical fiber holding member due to shrinkage accompanied with laser welding, that is applied to secure the optical fiber to the optical fiber holding member, and to suppress the loss of the quantity of light emitted from a semiconductor laser light source to a neglible degree. SOLUTION: This semiconductor laser module 1 is provided with a semiconductor laser light source 7 for emitting a laser light to an input end 29 of an optical fiber 9, an optical fiber holding member 11 to hold the optical fiber 9, so that the input end 29 may be located a specified distance apart from the semiconductor laser light source 7, and a pedestal 3 to support them. In this case, the optical fiber 9 is fixed in position through laser welding of a fiber holding part 19 of the optical fiber holding member 11, and the welding point A of laser welding is set at almost intermediate position of total length L of the optical fiber holding member 11.
