PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mask mounting and demounting device, capable of coping with cathode-ray tubes of different in aspect ratio with one mounting mecha nism. SOLUTION: This mask demountable device 14 is provided with a fixed frame 16 and a vertically movable lifting frame 18. The lifting frame 18 is provided with a pair of swivel slides 24 swivelable on a rotating shaft 22. Elastic piece crimping mechanism 20 for engaging a first panel pin are loaded on a diagonal line of the swivel slides 24. The fixed frame 16 is provided with first movable bases 454, which are guided and supported by circular arc-shaped guides 46 respectively at outer positions of the corresponding elastic pieces crimping mechanism 20 for engaging the first panel pin. As a result, the mask mounting and demounting device 14 can cope with the panels of the cathode-ray tubes of both of a standard TV, having an aspect ratio of 4:3, and a landscape wide TV having an aspect ratio of 16:9.
