malformed packing ring is disclosed for application to plastic closures. The ring in question is compressed by the closure screwed on the neck of a bottle or jar. The deformation caused by compression enables the complete contact of the closure interior with the neck of the container. Thus, tightness is obtained with no need of additional means, what minimizes the packaging cost, with no disadvantages caused by similar sealing modes nowadays in use. The invention is practicable for various embodiments (e.g. application on plastic bottles containing milk products, juices, soft drinks, beers etc). |
