PURPOSE: A multi-disk clutch of an automatic transmission is provided to promote the shift feeling by making a disk evenly contact with the entire contacting surface of a plate, to enhance power control performance by reducing the drag torque, and to improve fuel efficiency. CONSTITUTION: Disks(1) and plates(2) are retained in a retainer. A multi-disk clutch of an automatic transmission is pressurized by a piston operated by oil-hydraulic pressure. While the clutch is spaced by a return spring, power is controlled. Crowns(2a) are formed on both sides of the plate. When the gap between the disk and the plate is reduced by the piston, the sections of the crowns contact with each other simultaneous with the contacting of the end portions. Thus, the entire contacting surfaces of the disk and the plate contact with each other.
