PURPOSE: A method for controlling a power of a portable phone is provided to control the power for using only the function of an electronic note in a state in which the power of the portable phone is turned off. CONSTITUTION: A battery is installed in a portable phone, and a power is supplied to the portable phone. A boot sequence is executed, and an initial operation is executed as a power saving mode or a normal mode according to the possibility of call. The state of the portable phone is operated as the power saving mode or the normal mode using a designated button according to the selection of a user.
