PURPOSE: A steering indicator of a vehicle is provided to assist the steering of a vehicle by making a driver recognize the advancing direction of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A steering detecting sensor(12) for detecting the advancing direction of a vehicle corresponding to the leftward and rightward movement of a tie rod(10) is installed on the tie rod of a steering system. A control unit(14) emits an output signal by processing the emission signal of the steering detecting sensor. An indication unit(18) for indicating the advancing state of the vehicle is installed in a steering wheel(16). The advancing direction in the forward movement state and the retreating direction in the backup state are indicated by the indication unit. Therefore, a driver conveniently steers the vehicle.
