An X-ray CT apparatus comprising a plurality of X-ray generating means for generating X-rays encompassing a subject, arranged on a circle at the center of which the subject is placed, and movable with reference to the subject, sensors encompassing the subject, arranged on a circle at the center of whic h the subject is placed, movable with reference to the subject, and adapted to measure the X-rays emitted from the X-ray generating means and passing throu gh the subject, an X-ray generation control means for selecting use or nonuse o f each of the X-ray generating means, and a mode setting instruction means for instructing each of the X-ray generating means to operate in a desired operation mode.
