PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer receiving device capable of detecting that a container in which powder type developer is received is full of the developer by using a detection means, where a situation that the container is full of the developer is easily and surely detected without causing erroneous detection while being hardly influenced by the difference of a condition concerning the container (height dimension, size and attaching place or the like). SOLUTION: A partition member 4 partitions the inner space of the container 2 from the inner space of a detection space part 3 formed at the specified part of the container 2 and is opened by the pressing force F of the developer 1 when the developer is accumulated in the container 2 by a specified amount. The member 4 is attached to space between both spaces. The member 4 is opened and a detection means 5 detects that the developer 1 infiltrates to the inner space side of the space part 3 from the inner space side of the container 2.
