PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the operational mode at a demodulating section directly from the outside. SOLUTION: The high frequency unit comprises an input terminal 21, a channel selecting section 31 for selecting a signal inputted to the input terminal 21, a demodulating section 26 supplied with the output from the channel selecting section 31, an output terminal 27 connected with the output of the demodulating section 26, a section 29 for controlling the channel selecting section 31 and the demodulating section 26, and a data input terminal 30 for supplying control data to the control section 29. The control section 29 has a first mode for controlling at least one of the channel selecting section 31 and the demodulating section 26, and a second mode for supplying data inputted from the data input terminal 30, as it is, to the demodulating section 26. According to the arrangement, operational mode at the demodulating section can be controlled directly from the outside.
