PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rendering piping and instrumentation diagram intelligent by which a graphic of non-attribute drawing can be efficiently rendered intelligent. SOLUTION: By comparing the graphic of non-attribute drawing (such as drawing plotted by non-attribute CAD, for example), with forms on the symbol list of equipment of components prepared in advance, the graphic of non- attribute drawing is converted into the graphic attribute of equipment or component on the list. Further, the attribute of the converted equipment or component is fetched from character information close to the relevant graphic as default information so that the component attribute can be defined.
