SOLID-STATE CT SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state X-ray source for a computed tomography(CT) imaging system. SOLUTION: The X-ray source 14 is provided with a cathode 58, preferably constituted by plural elements capable of addressing. The cathode is disposed inside a vacuum chamber 74, and thereby electrons which are emitted collide with an anode 68 disposed, spaced apart from the cathode 58. An electron beam 82 is formed and moves along the length of the cathode 58. The anode 68 is disposed at a suitable position adjacent to an X-ray transmissive window 66 in a cooling block part 56. The anode 68 and the X-ray transmissive window 66 are disposed in a long and narrow channel 64 of the cooling block part 56.
