ROLLER MADE OF COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ROLLER

PURPOSE: A roller made of a composite material and a method for manufacturing a roller are provided to enhance productivity by improving the vibration-damping characteristic and by reducing weight and to restrain the slippage of a film by making the surface roughness uniform and reducing the rotational moment of inertia. CONSTITUTION: A roller(10) made of a composite material comprises a cylindrical fiber-reinforced composite material tube(11), a metal tube(12) inserted by closely adhering to the outer face of the fiber-reinforced composite material tube, and a plated layer(13) formed on the surface of the metal tube. The fiber-reinforced composite material of the cylindrical fiber-reinforced composite material tube is a carbon-fiber-reinforced epoxy composite material. According to the composite material, weight is reduced while vibration-damping characteristic is improved.
