PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image processing that emphasis a character on dots, while suppressing production of moires and adjusts the contrast of a dot image. SOLUTION: The image processing unit that applies spatial frequency processing for enhanced/non-enhanced sharpness to a received image signal and provides an output is provided with a dot structure analysis means 6, that analyzes the dot structure of the received image signal and a filter processing means 2 that controls a two-dimensional direction characteristic in the spatial frequency processing, according to the analysis result obtained by using the dot structure analysis means 6. |
