PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image of the same quality in each image forming mode of an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus which forms a latent image on an image carrier by an optical writing means provided with a light emitting source to be subjected to lighting control according to image data, develops the latent image and obtains the sensible image, an image forming speed switching means which switches image forming process speed according to the set image forming mode is provided, a light quantity of the light emitting source is set at a light quantity setting part 11 with a control signal according to the image forming mode, light-emission time is set at a PWM signal generation part 12, and by controlling an LD drive part 13 with the light quantity setting part 11 and the PWM signal generating part 12, at least either one of them is switched. |
