PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain more detailed information on newspaper articles. SOLUTION: Newspaper data are transmitted from a newspaper company via a satellite 4 and are received by a data receiver 6. The received data recorded on a magneto-optical disk(MO) 8 are read as needed, and are displayed on a monitor 8. Then, it is reported whether or not more detailed information (detailed information) on the displayed data (newspaper articles) is present in a large computer 1 of the newspaper company. In the presence of the detailed information, when instruction for requesting the detailed information is made by operating a remote controller 9, the detailed information is transmitted from the large computer 1 to the data receiver 6 via a public telephone network.
