PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately manage an image file without getting a storage destination of the image file out of sequence. SOLUTION: Directories are prepared in a hard disk 20 as necessary, and time information following a clock 28a is allocated to the directories. The image file is stored in the newest directory whose preparation time is the newest among the plurality of directories prepared in this way. If a time shown by the clock 28a is changed tracing back to the past, a marker is attached to a directory having time information following an unchanged clock. The newest directory is detected on the basis of such marker and time information.
